Understanding auto-recharge

If you have recurring campaigns or want to ensure your messaging services continue without interruption, we recommend enabling auto-recharge.

Updated over a week ago

Auto-recharge is a feature that:

  • Monitors your account balance

  • Automatically adds credit when your balance drops below a preset threshold

This ensures uninterrupted messaging services and removes the need for manual top-ups. Auto-recharge is automatically activated when a dedicated number is purchased.

Why are charges applied for owning a dedicated number?

Owning a dedicated number in ClickSend comes with ongoing fees that cover:

  • Number provisioning and maintenance

  • Infrastructure support

  • Regulatory compliance

These fees are deducted periodically, regardless of how many messages you send, ensuring your number remains active and compliant.

Managing Auto-Recharge and Recurring Charges

How can I set up auto-recharge?

  1. Log in to your ClickSend Dashboard

  2. Navigate to Billing → General → Balance Management

  3. Adjust your settings:

    • Low-credit triggers – set when auto-recharge should activate

    • Recharge amounts – specify how much credit to add

    • Enable or disable Auto-Recharge

  4. Save your changes to apply them

How can I stop auto-recharge?

If you no longer need auto-recharge or want to prevent recurring charges:

  1. Remove the dedicated number from your account

  2. Once canceled, auto-recharge cycles and associated fees will stop

Refunds for Auto-Recharge Charges

Can I receive a refund?

Yes. Refunds are possible for charges made via auto-recharge. ClickSend processes refunds promptly, but the time for funds to return to your account depends on your bank or card issuer.

How do I request a refund?

To request a refund:

  1. Contact ClickSend Support with details of the transaction

  2. The support team will review your request and guide you through the next steps

Tips for common auto-recharge issues

  • Consecutive auto-recharges: Consecutive auto-recharges may occur if your balance is insufficient to cover your dedicated numbers. Either maintain sufficient credits or remove the number.

  • Payment method requirements: For auto-recharge, a valid payment method (credit card) must be on file

  • Pending transactions: Credit card top-ups may show “Pending” for up to 7 days while the bank processes the payment. Funds are available during this period
