Downloading your message history

  • ClickSend retains comprehensive message data for four months

  • During this time, you can download comprehensive message history from the History page in the ClickSend Dashboard

  • See below Download Message History section for detail on each field name

  • You can only download up to 50,000 message records at a time, and the message body will be limited to 160 characters. If you need to download a larger history, or require the full message body, please contact support or your Account Manager to request a manual download. There is no fee for this service/request.

  • After four months, your message data is archived, and no longer available to view in the Dashboard, or downloadable from the History page or API.

  • If you require access to delivery data that is older than four months, you can contact support or your Account Manager to request a download of archived data. Archived data does not contain these fields:

    • body

    • error_text

    • contact_first_name

    • contact_last_name

    • _api_username

  • If you have De-identify message history enabled, the to data will be partially obfuscated in any history downloads.

Fully archived data including message body

If you require access to archived data including the message body, you can contact support to request this data.

As this data is contained in offline backups, there is a fee-for-service for providing this data, equivalent to AUD$500.

De-identify message history

ClickSend can configure your account to automatically strip out the message body after a certain period of time of your choice, for example: seven days after the message was sent. Once the message has been de-identified, the message body will be replaced with these characters: ****.
Please contact support or your account manager to set up de-identification.
