Exporting + data security

ClickSend provides tools to manage your messaging data, export reports and ensure secure handling of information. This guide explains how to de-identify, export, and store message history securely.


De-identify message history

You can automatically strip out the message body after a certain period of time. You can choose the period of time, for example: seven days after the message was sent.

Once the message has been de-identified, the message body will be replaced with these characters: ****

Please contact support or your account manager to set up de-identification.


Export message history

You can easily export your account history using the Dashboard:

  1. Log in to the Dashboard.

  2. Click on the 'SMS' menu.

  3. Click on 'History.'

  4. Select the date range and click 'Export.'

All your history for this date range will be exported to a CSV file, which can be opened with Microsoft Excel.

Limits ahead. You can only export up to 50,000 records at one time. The message body will be limited to 160 characters. Contact support to see the full message body.


Message history storage

We store message history for four months*. This includes all information related to the message, such as images.
