IMDA Singapore SMS Requirements – TLS 1.3 or higher

Updated over a week ago

To send SMS messages to Singapore after 1 April 2026, your browser and other systems must use TLS 1.3 or higher when connecting to ClickSend.

This update is mandatory and ensures you remain secure.

Deadline: 31 March 2026

Please update your systems before 31 March 2026.

From 1 April 2026, systems using lower TLS versions will stop working for ClickSend Dashboard SMS delivery and specific region based requests.

About TLS

Identify What You Need To Do

What you need to update will depend on how you connect to ClickSend.

Instructions

1. Sending through Software Running on a Server (API or Automated Sending)

If you send SMS through your own application, integration, or server:

  1. Your server may be using an outdated TLS library.
A developer or IT team member may need to install an updated library that supports TLS 1.3.

  2. Your code may be hardcoded to use an old TLS version.
If so, your developer must update the code to allow newer TLS versions.

This applies to any system that automates sending SMS—such as CRM integrations, middleware, custom applications, or background services.

2. Using ClickSend Dashboard to send

If you use the ClickSend Dashboard to send SMS Messages to Singapore, please follow this article, link here
