ClickSend works with customers all over the world. No matter what currency you use — USD, EUR, GBP or others — we aim to keep pricing clear and consistent. Here's how currency conversion works and why your balance might shift slightly over time.
Why your credit balance can change
ClickSend is headquartered in Australia, and all accounts are managed in Australian Dollars (AUD) behind the scenes. This means:
Every payment you make is converted to AUD at the time of the transaction.
Message fees are charged in AUD.
Your balance is stored in AUD.
If your account is set to a different currency (like USD or GBP), you’ll still see your balance and pricing in your local currency — but your balance is updated according to live AUD exchange rates.
How exchange rates can change your credit balance
We update exchange rates once a week. Which means your displayed balance in local currency may fluctuate slightly. However, your message cost changes at the same rate as your balance.
So, even if your balance dips a little, the number of messages you can send stays the same.
For example:
John tops up $100 USD on 1 October. That is stored in the background as $157.01 AUD. The message price is $0.035 AUD (about $0.0224 USD), giving him 4,461 messages.
Two weeks later, exchange rates shift. His AUD balance is the same, but now equals $96.79 in USD. And the message price adjusts to $0.0217 USD. John can still send 4,461 messages.
Just remember, your balance might change slightly but your message volume won’t. Credit and message pricing always move together at the same rate.
Local currencies
ClickSend supports all major currencies. Your account will automatically show pricing and balances in your local currency based on your location. You'll see:
You top up in your local currency.
Your balance is displayed in your local currency.
All charges are made in your local currency.
International fees
ClickSend does not charge international transaction fees.
However, your bank or card provider might — especially if your card is not enabled for international payments. It's best to check with your bank.
