Connect ClickSend to IFTTT
Before you get started:
Make sure you're not using private browsing/incognito — IFTTT requires cookies enabled.
Log into the ClickSend dashboard: [dashboard.clicksend.com]
Go to: [ifttt.com/clicksend] and click Connect.
It may still show “Connect” even after linking — don’t worry, this is expected.
Open My Applets, then click Create to get started.
Create an Applet
IFTTT applets have two parts:
If This (the trigger)
Then That (the action)
To send an SMS:
Click Create in your IFTTT dashboard.
Choose a trigger service (e.g. Google Calendar, Weather, Twitter).
Set the trigger condition (e.g. "New tweet by me").
For Then That, search for ClickSend.
Choose Send SMS as the action.
Fill in:
The phone number (in international format, e.g. +14155552671)
Your message content (you can use ingredients from the trigger, like date, time, or tweet text)
Save and activate your applet.
Note: Currently, you can only send to one contact at a time using IFTTT. If you need to send messages to multiple contacts, consider using [Zapier instead], where you can set up multiple actions in one Zap.
Troubleshooting
Having trouble connecting to IFTTT?
Try these steps:
Disable incognito mode or private browsing.
Ensure cookies are enabled in your browser.
Log in to your ClickSend account: [dashboard.clicksend.com]
Visit: [ifttt.com/clicksend] and click Connect.
Even if it still says “Connect,” move ahead and create your applet.
If this still doesn’t work, [let us know].
FAQs
Can I send to multiple contacts using IFTTT?
No, only one contact per applet is supported. For multiple contacts, use Zapier.
Does ClickSend support inbound SMS on IFTTT?
Not at the moment. You can only send outbound messages using this integration.
What phone format should I use?
Always use the international format: +countrycodephonenumber (e.g. +61412345678).
Can I add dynamic content to my message?
Yes. Use IFTTT “ingredients” from your trigger (e.g., tweet text, event title).
