Protecting your account

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Your ClickSend account contains valuable customer information and tools. Protecting it is crucial to keeping your business data and customers safe.

Use a strong and unique password

A strong password is your first defence against unauthorised access. A strong password should:

  • Use at least 12 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special symbols.

  • Avoid predictable words, like "password123" or personal information like your name.

  • Be a unique password that you don’t use for other accounts.

For extra protection, two factor authentication is enabled for all ClickSend accounts.

Be aware of common scams and attacks

Understanding common attack methods can help you recognise and avoid them.

OTP flooding

OTP (One-Time Password) flooding is a tactic where attackers repeatedly request OTPs to overwhelm your account or deceive you into sharing your verification code.

Never share OTPs with anyone, even if they claim to be from ClickSend.

Be cautious of unexpected OTP messages, especially if you didn’t initiate a login or action.

Phishing attacks

Phishing involves fake emails, messages, or websites designed to steal your login credentials.

Always check the sender’s email address for suspicious domains.

Avoid clicking on links in unexpected emails. Instead, go directly to the ClickSend website. Look for "https://" and the padlock icon in your browser when logging in.

Account takeover attempts

Attackers might try to guess your password or exploit reused passwords from other breached accounts. Make sure you always use strong, unique passwords for every account and regularly update your password.

Stay updated on security practices

Cybersecurity threats evolve constantly. Staying informed helps you stay protected.

Regularly update your browser and devices to patch security vulnerabilities. Be cautious with public Wi-Fi and use a VPN for added security when accessing your account.

Report suspicious activity

If you suspect your account has been compromised or notice anything unusual, contact ClickSend support immediately via email at support@clicksend.com or via live chat in the Dashboard.
