Integration Guide: Freshworks

Integrate ClickSend with your Freshworks environments to send text messages directly to contacts and manage two-way conversations.


Two Ways to Use the ClickSend SMS Connector

1. Directly via Contacts

  • Go to Contacts in Freshsales and open the contact you want to message.

  • Select Add an SMS provider, choose ClickSend, and sign in with your ClickSend credentials.

  • Once connected, you can start composing and sending SMS messages directly from the contact record.

2. Via the Freshworks Marketplace

  • Visit the 'Any SMS for Freshdesk' or 'Advanced SMS alert' on the Freshworks Marketplace.

  • Install the app (developed by Ulgebra) and or a third-party developer. Once installed, you will be able to send SMS directly from your chosen provider within your Freshworks dashboard.

  • On the SMS integration page, select ClickSend as your provider.

  • Enter your ClickSend credentials:

    Username – Your ClickSend account username

    API Key – Found in your ClickSend dashboard

  • Authenticate, select your sending number, and click Save.


Receive Replies in Freshsales

  • Toggle the Receive SMS option in the ClickSend configuration panel within Freshsales.

  • A unique webhook URL will be displayed—copy this URL.

  • Log in to your ClickSend dashboard, navigate to SMS > Inbound SMS, and create a New Rule:

    Action: URL

    URL: Paste the webhook URL you copied from Freshworks.

  • Save the rule.

  • Inbound SMS messages sent back to your ClickSend number will now automatically sync and appear directly inside Freshworks.

Note: Freshworks requires mobile numbers to be entered with the international country prefix (e.g., +1 for the US or +61 for Australia) to ensure successful delivery and correct contact matching.
