What is Website Registration?

If you want to send URLs via SMS you need to register the website that features those URLs with ClickSend first. This allows us to check the website to make sure any URLs pointing to that website are safe for people to click.

Website Registration is an important security feature that helps to stop phishing and scams. It only takes a few minutes to register a website. You can register any website domain — not just your own.

Why?

Registering a domain tells our system the links you’ll be sending are legitimate. It also gives your messages a better chance of being delivered successfully.

Registering the right web address

When registering your website, you only need to register the website domain.

✔️ Register:

❌ Don’t register:

Website domains like: www.clicksend.com

Specific URLs or links like: www.clicksend.com/about

Website subdomains like: help.clicksend.com

Website pages like: Contact, Blog, Services, etc.

Explaining website domains, sub domains and URLs

Learn the difference between website domains, subdomains and URLs.

  • Website Domain
This is your main website name that you plan to use in the SMS. Think of it like your home address on the internet.
    For example: www.clicksend.com
  • Subdomain
This is a sub-site that’s connected to your main website domain.
    For example: blog.clicksend.com, help.clicksend.com
  • URL / Link
This is the specific list to a specific page or resource on your website domain.
    For example: https://www.yourwebsite.com/about-us
