What is Interactive Text-to-Voice
Interactive Text-to-Voice messaging (DTMF) lets you send a voice message to someone’s phone—generated from text—and gives them the option to respond by pressing buttons on their keypad.
It’s a simple, automated way to have two-way conversations over a phone call, like confirming an appointment or choosing a menu option, without needing a person on the other end.
How to set up DTMF for your Voice messages
Navigate to the account dropdown and select Message Settings > Voice.
Select Add New Rule.
Select Email User. This tells us where to send the report
Click Add
Then, navigate to the Voice menu in the Dashboard.
Create Your Voice message. Make sure you include a clear prompt for the recipient to press a number. For example: Press 1 to confirm.
Make sure you tick Require Input.
Click Send Now or Schedule for later.
Once the recipient receives the message and presses a key — you’ll get an email notification with their selection. You can also find this information in History.
Recording customer keypad input
You can gather feedback or responses from your recipients using keypad inputs during a call. This feature, known as DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency). It allows recipients to interact with your voice message by pressing a number on their phone.
You might use it for messages such as:
Customer feedback: “Please rate your experience with Company XYZ on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best.”
Appointment confirmations: “Confirm your appointment at XYZ Dental. Press 1 to accept or 2 to cancel.”
