All other networks support Alpha originators only. Numeric and shortcode will be overwritten to an alpha sender.

Please provide the following details:

  1. Alpha Tag (11 characters max with no spaces)
  2. Service Description
  3. Sample SMS message
  4. Estimated monthly volume
  5. Traffic Type
  6. Must fill out a form that will be sent by our global sending specialist.

Regulations & Best Practices

MTN operators have deployed very strict rules about the usage of SenderIDs approved for marketing use:

  1. Any transactional SMS sent using an alpha tag preregistered for marketing/promotional purposes will be charged 1 USD per SMS.
  2. Curfew for marketing messages. Won´t be allowed to submit promotional traffic from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Any SMS sent outside of the permissible timeframe resulting in a regulatory fine, the full liability will be borne by the customer.
